The Court of Assistants, the governing body of the Company, consists of the Master and Wardens, the Past Masters of the Company, together with four Junior Assistants who have yet to reach the office of Warden.

The Court of the Company may not exceed a total of 24, including the Master and Wardens.
On reaching the age of 75, a Past Master will become an Honorary Assistant, supernumerary to the Court itself but with the right to attend Court meetings, and to address the Master and Court, but not to vote.
